Cortalim Villagers came from behind to secure a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Cuncolim Union in their GFA First Division League encounter. The match, played at the Navelim Ground, was an entertaining affair with both teams showcasing their attacking prowess.

James Fernandes gave Cuncolim Union the lead in the 15th minute with a well-taken shot. Velvino Fernandes then doubled their advantage in the 29th minute with a clinical finish. However, Cortalim Villagers responded strongly in the second half with goals from Aniston Fernandes in the 49th and 81st minute, Vijay Naik in the 54th minute, and Stalen Lucas in the 90+1 minute.

south Goa United beat Rossman Cruz Nagoa 2-1 in a closely contested match. Alex Fernandes opened the scoring for South Goa United in the 48th minute, but Jelito Miranda equalized for Rossman Cruz Nagoa just two minutes later. Enrique Rodrigues scored the winning goal in the 80+1 minute, securing the victory for South Goa United.

In another match, Don Bosco Fatorda secured a well-deserved 2-0 victory over Ave Maria A&WC, with Vellan Furtado and Yurraj Dodamani both getting on the scoresheet. Furtado opened the scoring for Don Bosco Fatorda in the 32nd minute. Despite several chances for both sides, the score remained 1-0 until the 80+3 minute, when Dodamani sealed the win for Don Bosco Fatorda with a powerful shot.

Maina SC dominated the U-13 Division League match against Wilred Liesure SC, winning 6-1. Farhan Shaikh was the standout performer for Maina, scoring an impressive four goals in the 32nd, 39th, 43rd, and 46th minutes. Kinsley Fernandes added to Maina’s lead with a goal in the 62nd minute. Despite being behind, Wilred Liesure SC did manage to pull one back through Finley Carvalho’s goal in the 68th minute. However, Maina SC,  Rio Fernandes scored their sixth goal in the 70th minute. It was a commanding display by Maina SC and a disappointing result for Wilred Liesure SC.

In another match, Canacona S&CC secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Navelim Villagers Union, with Malik Ifran, Pratish Gaonkar, Shrinath Gaonkar, and Samrat Velip all finding the back of the net. Ifran opened the scoring in the 17th minute, with Gaonkar doubling their lead.Shrinath Gaonkar added a third goal in the 60th minute, and Velip scored a late fourth. Canacona S&CC dominated the game throughout, controlling possession and creating multiple chances, while Navelim Villagers Union struggled to get a foothold in the game.

Pinto’s Youth Club of Baradi emerged victorious against Davorlim Sports Club in the GFA U-15 Division II League – Salcete Zone Group B. The match, held at Benaulim Ground, saw Pinto’s Youth Club of Baradi defeat Davorlim Sports Club 3-0 in a thrilling encounter. Shefield Dias scored the first goal for Pinto’s Youth Club of Baradi in the 27th minute, while Hayston Fernandes and Yickson Fernandes scored in the 49th and 59th minute respectively. The match was action-packed, with both teams playing their hearts out, but it was Pinto’s Youth Club of Baradi who came out on top.

In an exciting encounter at Nagao ground, Ave Maria and Pax of Nagoa played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the U-13 SALCETE ZONE GROUP A 2022-2023 Division II league match. The game started with Pax of Nagoa taking the lead, as Bamadev Garnaik scored in the 4th minute and Ashwin Cardoso doubled the lead in the 20th minute. However, Ave Maria fought back and managed to reduce the deficit through Emmanuel Carvalho’s goal in the 35th minute. They then equalized through Slayden Gonsalves’ strike in the 58th minute, and despite both teams pushing for a winner, the game ended in a well-deserved draw.

YC Manora V/S Nuvem Sports Club  Navelim ground 4.00 pm 

YC Manora and Nuvem Sports Club played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their latest match at Navelim ground. The game started in a lively fashion, with Joswel Cardozo giving YC Manora the lead in the 5th minute with a well-placed shot. However, Nuvem Sports Club responded in the second half, with Nicolau Colaco equalizing in the 58th minute and Selton Fernandes putting them ahead in the 66th minute. YC Manora refused to go down without a fight and quickly responded, with Garison Fernandes scoring the equalizer just one minute later. In the end, both teams settled for a point each in a thrilling encounter.
